BE PART OF THE 20th RUNNING OF THE RRR CLASSIC

October 3rd will see a maximum field of 400 riders line up for what has become an iconic mountain biking event in Australia.

The RRR is Australia's longest running point to point race.

Some of Australia's best riders have competed in the RRR over the past 19 years, and those with the honor of winning the valued trophy usually had to fight for it to the end. In the 19 year history of the RRR, rarely has there been a run away winner.

The 1st 15km's is where the leaders are sizing each other up and pushing the pace to eliminate the weak. The climbs over Bells Hill are where the weak begin to drop away. A fast open descent off the top is the 1st test of the true descenders in the diminishing lead group. Along Black Mountain Road may be the last chance for making a passing move before the start of the Historical Bump Track begins. The Bump Track is where the technical rider will show his colours. The final descent off the top of the Great Dividing Range drops over 450 vertical meters in less than 2km's. It can all be won and lost right there. Off the bottom and its fast and flat to the finish. The only tough bits is usually a screaming head wind all the way to the highway, then the 4 miles of beach sand to the finish line at the Northern end of Port Dougals. It may come down to technical descending skills, or having the legs at the end for the 4 miles of beach sand . Either way, the relatively short 42km course can't be taken lightly.

I have always said it is a nice track to ride, but a tough course to race. So whether you want to race it or share the experience as a social rider, don't miss out.

Entries will be online only and open at midnight on the 31st of JULY
