It's been 10 years or so since the last day/night Pony Express in Cairns and fair to say most of our current club members have never experienced the fun of night racing. They turned up in numbers with a field of over 70 riders battling it out for the honor of taking the title. It went off to say the least.

A full moon, Halloween and the deep dark forest single track brought out some monsters. Some riders dressed for the theme and those who didn’t were surprised by a werewolf creature lurking in the shadows of the pines. Screams were heard echoing through the forest from time to time.

Every one had a great time and the weather held off so we all stayed dry. There was even some dust in places.

Andrew Costello and Malcolm Brown won the overall event convincingly with 12 laps of the 6km course in the 3 hours. Full results below
